Since 1967, Jesús Manuel Mena Garza has made it his mission to capture the Chicana and Chicano (Chicanx/Xicanx) experience. He has focused his lens on communities as diverse as Los Angeles, San Antonio, Tucson, Albuquerque, San José and now Fort Worth. A new project Garza has undertaken is photographing Chicana and Chicano artists and academics.

The photographer understands that the many accomplishments of Latinos are often dismissed by the dominant culture. So for more than 55 years (he bought his first camera at age 11) he has taken on the role of outside observer and chronicler of Chicanx history. Call (682) 365-8702 if you have any questions about Garza's past, current or upcoming photography and video projects.
If you have the ability, please support Jesús Manuel Mena Garza photography and video projects by donating a dollar or more at Garza's Patreon Page. Also feel free to suggest a project for funding. Thanks.
